"Missy", a black 32" AMHA/AMHR Miniature mare, to the uneducated eye, looked like nothing more than a small, fat pony. But we knew she was worth her weight in gold! She came to us as our very first Miniature mare, as a 5 year old who had already had two beautiful fillies, and then continued to bless us with absolutely stunning foals each & every year...for the next 14 years! She never had any health problems, conceived and foaled like clockwork. She was a great mother and milked like a Holstein! Missy consistently passed her dishy head, huge kind eyes, high tailset, knee-poppin' , tail-flagging trot, and gentle disposition to all her foals. This year, the unthinkable happened. Missy's 17th foal was a hip-locked colt and sadly, we lost them both. Words cannot express the grief we felt, and still feel, upon losing her.
They say a single picture speaks a thousand words, so I can think of no better tribute to Missy, than to show pictures of all the beautiful foals she has blessed us with, and will continue her line.
